20,000 new vaccine appointments opened Monday
The addition of 20,000 new vaccination appointments into the state’s scheduling system Monday afternoon was announced by Gov. Reeves during a press conference.
The appointments are for first doses of the COVID-19 vaccine, and can be booked by calling 877-978-6453 or by visiting covidvaccine.umc.edu.
More than 105,000 first doses have been administered in Mississippi as of the announcement, and 9,719 second doses are been administered to make nearly 10,000 individuals fully vaccinated. A total of 114,947 doses have been given statewide.
The call center and website have been expanded to cut down on wait times and technical issues.
“We celebrated a milestone over the weekend, with more than 100,000 Mississippians receiving vaccinations for COVID-19,” Reeves said. “That’s something we can all be proud of, as we work to get even more access to all.”
